Organiser and Eligibility “Lifestyle in Motion” Contest 2018 (hereafter “Contest”) is organized by Alamanda Shopping Centre (hereafter “Organiser”). By participating in this Contest, you agree to comply with all terms and conditions forth in this article. This Contest opens to all residents and permanent residents of Malaysia with valid NRIC except Employees of the Organiser including its affiliated and related companies and their immediate family members (children, parents, brothers and sisters, including spouses); and/or representatives, employees, servants and/or agents of advertising and/or promotion service providers of Organiser including its affiliated and related companies, and their immediate family members. The Contest period runs from 17 September 2018, 12.00am to – 31 December 2018, 11.59pm. The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Contest period at any time without written notice. The Organiser reserves the rights to terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice. The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense as a result. The Organiser reserves the right to change, amend, delete or add to these Contest Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time. Participants agree to be bound to any such changes. The Organiser’s decision shall be final and binding. No correspondence shall be entertained.
The Contest starts from 17 Sept 2018 and the closing date for submission is by 31 Dec 2018. Entries received after 11:59pm on 31 Dec 2018 (or such extended closing date determined at the sole and absolute discretion of the Organiser) or are damaged, corrupted, incomplete or illegible will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
The theme of the Contest is “Lifestyle in Motion” (“the Theme”).
The Organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the contest period at any time without any prior notice to any party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by the Organiser, any participation in the Contest during the extended period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.
The Organiser reserves the right to modify the contest mechanisms, withdraw or terminate this Contest at any time at its sole and absolute discretion without prior notices to any person.
Eligibility
The Contest is open to our UNICARD member only (with UNICARD member ID), ALL Malaysian citizen, age 18 and above, residing in Malaysia ONLY (“Eligible Participants”) and who are the students of the participating colleges / universities.
Employees of the Organiser, its affiliates and/or related companies and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
Submission Requirements
Each entry MUST submit total of 3 short videos with the duration of 2 minutes per video.
This contest will be a group work competition and each group must consist of minimum of 1 member and maximum of 4 members only. All participating members must be UNICARD members to be eligible for this contest.
Each video must highlight your lifestyle as a student (s) of colleges / universities at Alamanda’s Shopping Centre that include but not limited to:
Shop : Shopping experiences at Alamanda Shopping Centre (show tenant’s name/brand)
Eat : Enjoying meal at F&B outlet(s) at Alamanda Shopping Centre (show tenant’s name/brand)
Play : Entertainment activities participation at Alamanda Shopping Centre (show tenant’s name/brand)
Eligible Participants MUST provide their Full Name, Identity Card number, UNICARD ID Number, Student ID Number, Contact Number, Email address, Course of Study, Faculty and name of the Universities / Colleges, Video Synopsis (Incomplete entries will not be considered).
Organizer logos (Alamanda Shopping Centre’s logo) need to be included in the video, which can be downloaded from the official website at www.alamanda.com.my.
Each submission will be tied to ONE Eligible Participant. In the event that a group works together on a submission, the submission will be entered under the name of a primary participant. However, the complete details of group members MUST BE provided.
Entries can include any elements that related to the Theme with a sense of “humor”, “inspiring” or “touching” and MUST contain “Alamanda Shopping Centre” and/or products and/or services in any part of the video.
All entries must be the Eligible Participants’ original works and no part or component thereof is copied from any other work or material.
Videos can be produced in English OR Bahasa Malaysia. However, if the video uses Bahasa Malaysia, subtitles in English should be provided.
By submitting a video entry to the Contest, Eligible Participants confirm that they are the legal and/or beneficial owner or otherwise have the intellectual property rights to submit such materials; and therefore warrant that they have obtained rights in incorporating copyrighted materials i.e. music, soundtrack, audio, graphics, images and video clips in their video entry. Each entry and any part thereof shall not at any time infringe or violate any laws or the rights of third party.
Entries must not have been submitted to any other contests/competition/film before.
Entries must not contain or reference any names, products or services of any company or entity or any third party trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand, product or services (other than the Organiser’s/ the tenants’ of the Organiser).
Entries that are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, illegal, offensive, or otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material should not be submitted and the Organiser reserves the right to remove or demand the Eligible Participant to remove such entry at any time in the Organiser’s sole discretion.
By submitting the entries, the producers and owners of the entries are to grant the Organiser exclusive rights of the copyright to use the entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally. Refer to the copyright clauses as below.
All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the entry and the participation of this contest shall be fully borne by the Eligible Participants.
How to Participate
Format of the video submission: Every entry video should consist of the following:-
Title – ‘Alamanda’s “Lifestyle in Motion” Video Contest’ followed by title of video
A brief synopsis of video
The video must be in one of the following formats:-
WebM
MPEG4, 3GPP and MOV
AVI
MPEGPS
WMV
FLV
Recommended video resolution is 640p x 480p. Video quality must be clear on a full computer screen.
Audio quality must be clear – on site audio feed or narration is allowed.
How to submit All complete entries are to be submitted via online file transfer (e.g. wetransfer, google drive etc) to info.alamanda@suriaklcc.com.my by 11.59 pm on 31 Dec 2018. All submission must comply with the submission requirements and format video in accordance to the format requested of these Terms and Conditions
Judging/ Winner Selection Criteria
Judging criteria will be based on the (A) Creativity; (B) Originality; and (C) Appropriateness to the Theme.
Each participant can only win once. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable.
Only valid entries are to be considered. An entry is considered valid when it is submitted within the Contest period and has fulfilled all required procedures as stated in the Terms and Conditions. The Organiser nonetheless reserves the right to reject any entry at its sole and absolute discretion without having to assign any reasons whatsoever. Any decision from the Organiser is final and no correspondence shall be entertained.
*The 1st prize winner will be contracted for the production of 3 videos with the Organizer. The winners will need to produce 3 to 5 minutes videos to highlight Chinese New Year campaign, Hari Raya campaign and Christmas campaign between the period from 1 Jan 2019 to 31 Dec 2019. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to substitute any of the prizes with alternative prizes of similar value, at any time without prior notice. All prizes are given on an “As is” basis and are not exchangeable or sold for cash, credit, other items or voucher in part or in full and are non-transferable to any other person. Copyright of the produced videos remains with the Organiser. Refer to the copyright clauses as below.
Result of the contest
The winners of the Contest will be notified via email or phone no later than 14 January 2019 or such other date as decided by the Organiser at its absolute discretion, to present in person at the Prize Presentation venue to collect their prize. However, the Organiser reserves the right to change the venue and/or timing of Prize Presentation at its sole discretion without prior notification.
In the event that a submission created by a group (and submitted by a Primary Entrant) is declared the winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, the prize will be awarded to the primary participant and it will be the responsibility of the primary participant to distribute the prize.
The winners are fully responsible for any injuries, damages or claims as a result of or arising from their participation in the Contest, usage of their prize and/or collection of their prize.
All transportation, accommodation, personal cost and/or any other costs and/or any other related expenses that are incurred to participate in this Contest and/or to redeem the prize are the sole responsibility of the Eligible Participants and winners.
Winners are required to include the following personal details if they are being requested: Name, NRIC Number, Email Address and Contact Number. The Organiser and any party acting on its behalf may use such details to communicate with winners on matters relating to the Contest. Unless compelled by applicable legislation, the Organiser will not provide such information to any third party without permission.
Collection of prizes
Prizes should be collected at Alamanda Shopping Centre Management office, starting 15 January 2019, Monday to Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm.
Winners need to present their NRIC number upon prize collection latest by 5:00 pm, 31 January 2019 . The Organiser is not responsible for failure to contact any winners as a result of invalid contact information provided within the email submitted. – The Organiser makes no warranties or representations whatsoever with respect to the prizes and will not be responsible nor liable for any problems and/or damage thereto or arising there from. – The Organiser reserves the right to replace the said prize with another of equal or lesser value. -Winners hereby irrevocably agree and give consent to The Organiser to publish any related matter to the entries including and not limited to the Winners’ names or interviews and photographs for current and future advertising and promotional purposes. – The Organiser is not responsible for Internet connection error that may affect the Contest.
Copyright
Copyright of the submitted video remains with the Organiser. Each entrant grants a royalty-free copyright to the Organiser to feature any or all of the submitted materials in any and all media for publicity and marketing purposes. This implies that any entry can be used for promotional purposes. All contest participants grant the Organiser copyright to copy, edit, display, publish and make available their submission materials and agree that the Organiser may publish their names in connection with this video contest related to the campaign. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that all videos have been taken with the permission of the subject(s) (or, where the submission shows any underage persons, the consent of their parent) and/or venue/location/photo or sound owner and does not infringe on the copyright of any third party. Entrants guarantee that they own the copyright for the submissions and for the usage rights required by the contest, and that their entry does not infringe on the privacy rights, copyright or any other rights of any person.
Liability
The Organiser will not be responsible or liable for any problem, damage or loss of whatsoever nature to any participants, or their authorised representatives resulting from their participation in the Contest. Any error (including error in notification of Contest winners), omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, Internet line failure, theft, destruction of, or unauthorised access to entries, PC hang whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, viruses, bugs or other causes outside its control.
Disqualification
The Organiser reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify anyone deemed to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or committing any breach or potential breach of these Contest Terms and Conditions. No correspondence shall be entertained.Participants will be automatically disqualified from the contest if:a. Video(s) produced does not feature Alamanda Shopping Centre; or b. Video(s) produced belongs to another individual and/or Alamanda Shopping Centre’s tenants’; or c. Video(s) submitted earlier than or after the contest period;

The Organiser receives and processes your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy and the PDPA when you provide Personal Data to the Organiser. You acknowledge that you have agreed to our terms and conditions upon participation in The Contest by allowing the Organiser to collect, use, and process your Personal Data in accordance with our privacy policy and the PDPA for the following purposes:
Sending you information related to online promotions, contests and events, and related to our marketing activities, unless you have indicated to us that you do not wish for us to process your Personal Data for such purposes;
Using your information for marketing and statistical analysis for planning and demo-graphical use;
Complying with local law and regulatory requirements or to assist in law enforcement and investigations by relevant authorities;
Any other purposes related to our marketing activities.
Data Protection and Privacy Policy Notice
Your personal data including your name and contact details (“Personal Data”) which you have provided to the Organiser (hereinafter referred to as “we” or “us” or “our”) in your application to participate in the Lifestyle in Motion 2018 (“Contest”) will be recorded, stored or otherwise processed by us for purposes relating to the administration of the Contest and for related advertising, publicity, marketing and our other legitimate business purpose (“Purpose”). Please be informed that your Personal Data may be disclosed to our affiliates, service providers and relevant business partners such as public relations agencies, market research firms, advertising agencies (if any) for the Purpose and as permitted by applicable data privacy laws.
